I went to the L'Oreal Plant yesterday in Paris! The plant was made up of "petals" and resemble an orchid. The French lady told us that this particular L'Oreal plant focuses on haircolor and skincare. So we got to put on lab coats and paper hats and headphones and walked through the entire plant and saw lotions, haircolor kits, anti-aging cremes being made! Pretty amazing if you ask me. Especially since I use 100% Color and Nutrisse and now I actually got to see it being made!!!
All throughout the trip, I kept on imagining the machines turning into attach robots and chasing us.....
Last night was the ballet: La Dame aux Camelias. BEST experience with any sort of art in Europe yet. The American version of the play is Camille. If you get a chance, read the book, watch the play, or even see the ballet. The ballet told a story of a courtesan who fell in love with a young man. The young man's father did not approve and in order to save the young man's future, she abandoned him. Later she dies of tuberculosis. I know I know, you must be thinking, this sucks! But it was the process that made it beautiful. All the leaps and spins mesmerized me. The leading lady was gorgeous from where I could see (nosebleed section for 10 euros!) and the leading man was Hayden Christiansen in the French form. He also kind of looked like Aric from Gossip Girl but A LOT better looking. They fit so well and glided through the stage and the whole show as one. One day, I hope I go back to see the ballet again but in a better seat. lol.
Today after class (VERY BORING), I went to the "I Love You" wall in Montmartre. The wall has "I love You" in 311 different languages. Although I kept on seeing repeats. Regardless, it was magnificent. There were also people's declaration of love that they wrote on the wall in permanent marker. Some were sad with words of letting go, others were promises to love each other forever. (those that I could read). I didn't write anything because the wall seemed too important for a single person to write on. It's for two people to make a mark on, preferably holding hands while they are writing.
The day ended with me spending over 100 dollars on paintings of Paris. I bought 3 smaller paintings in sepia tone for my bedroom that cost me 45 euros. I also bought a bigger one for my dad of the Eiffel tower at sunset. I hope he likes it. All four paintings are done on canvas.
It was a HUGE investment for little Joy. for she is not a BIG SPENDER.
Currently, I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance and will recover shortly.
GEEZ....
Pictures soon I promise. (edit* PICTURES! :D)
